              Men's Prayer Breakfast

The men's prayer breakfast is held on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 A.M.   All men are welcome.  At the December first breakfast, the attendees decided to make a donation from their treasury of $100 to the local food pantry.  The breakfast is a time for good food, conversation and spiritual growth.

The United Methodist Women has eighteen members.  Our mission is to serve others in the local community and the world.

In October we have observed Domestic Violence Month by giving donated teddy bears and blankets to the DOVE shelter.  We have donated money, mittens, hats, and scarves to the St. Nicholas Project at Christmas.  In December, we provide food baskets for shut-ins in White Pine.

We have participated in the Medicine Box Mission, the Blanket Mission, and have fund raisers including the local bazaar and pasty sale.

Most of the UMW members also volunteer to work with the Christian Kids Club and Vacation Bible School.

As sisters in Christ, we are working toward sharing what we have with others, and strengthening our faith.

The White Pine Christian Youth Group has an objective to have fun without turning to drugs, alcohol, or "following the crowd".  They are taught scripture and how it applies to life; about a savior who gave his life for their salvation.

The White Pine Christian Youth Group participates in projects as diverse as helping a disabled man move a woodpile to his basement, to baking cookies for the Christmas food baskets.  They raise funds with calendar sales, a spaghetti dinner, and collecting and cashing in beverage cans.

Merry Sanders and Nancy Hartman are leaders of the Senior High Youth Group, and Pastor Rosemary guides the Junior High Youth Group.

At the White Pine Community Methodist Church, our Christian Kid's Club program is geared toward children from Kindergarten thru 6th grade.  The program runs on Fridays immediately after school during the school year.

Most of the children in the program are unchurched.  Our mission is to teach them about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Each year the children choose a mission to support throughout the duration of the program.   In 2006-2007 we collected cans for the Ontonagon County Animal Protection agency.

In our meetings the children are met with love, sing praise to God, have a nutritious snack, learn a Bible story, make a craft, participate in Chapel, and finish with our "Thank You Circle".

The program is staffed by volunteers from both the Methodist and Lutheran faiths, who give unselfishly of their time to make the program a success.
